16:9 Aspect Ratio Maps
After more than a three decades of the Internet accumulating enormous amounts of data and with emerging AI powerhouses there is probably nothing left that anyone can’t find, create or improve upon existing without any need for additional options.
Design
Still, as saying goes, “we love what we do and we do what we love”, and maybe, we work with what we have, therefore, our originally introduced in the 1999 illustrative geographical reference maps are finally being to certain extent visually altered, time permitting. Specifically, their width is being extended to accommodate high definition format, HD with a 16:9 aspect ratio.

The new generated images of up to 8K, or 8000px x 4500px at 300ppi, are optimized specifically to be used on the web, so resized and compressed, ensuring optimal viewing experience.
The new-old maps will be slowly introduced to Maps pages in size of 818 x 460 px. (or larger and not all necessary at 16:9 aspect ratio), but still, the most will respect that ratio at 72 ppi.
