Discover Arctic
Region around the Earth’s North Pole is named Arctic. Arctic is mainly ice-covered ocean and some frozen ground. Despite of harsh climate life in the Arctic (on ice and below ice) includes indigenous peoples, land and marine animals.
The Arctic also includes parts of Canada, Greenland (Denmark), Russia, United States of America (Alaska), Iceland, Norway, Sweden and Finland beside the Arctic Ocean.

- Approximate limit of the polar night at 66° 33´N is considered as the Arctic Circle.
