Vanuatu is located in the South Pacific Ocean, to the east of Australia (map), north of New Zealand (map) and lies roughly between Fiji (map) to the west and the Solomon Islands (map) to the north. Vanuatu is made up of around 80 islands and is part of the Melanesian group of islands.
