Ceremony at Place de Vimy in Montreal was held on April 9, 2017, what was 100 anniversary of the Vimy ridge battle, in France during the WWI, when thousands of Canadian soldiers lost their lives before the ridge was taken under the control of Canadian troops.

Just a few months later, devastating microburst of a storm has severely damaged trees and as a consequence number of cars and homes in that part of Montreal, including a lower part of the Parc Notre-Dame-de-Grâce.
