Generally speaking

  • Egypt’s recorded history dates back 5,000 years.
  • Pyramids of Giza date back to 2700 – 2200 BC.
  • River Nile is the longest river in the world; 6,650 km or 4,030 miles. Main source of water in Nile is the Blue Nile and the White Nile. The Blue Nile flows from the Lake Tana in Ethiopia. The White Nile begins it’s journey in Central Africa. It flows from Lake Victoria in Tanzania through Uganda and South Sudan.
  • Suez Canal was open in 1869 and connects the Mediterranean Sea with the Red Sea shortening travel distance in between Europe and Asia. Suez canal is 163 km or 101 mile long.
