Levitating House

This is one of the things I like to call “Only in America” except that this one was in Montreal, in the Canadian province of Quebec.

Levitating House

OK, house was not actually levitating but it was in mid-air, completely lifted a few inches above its foundation until old one was demolished and a new foundation was poured in its place. You guessed it right, afterwards, house was lowered back down without one brick slipping out of it’s place, and life goes on.

We all have seen this on TV, houses lifted up on a flatbed truck and carried on another location, but this reconstruction of foundation was as impressive to witness in person.

On the next photos is the same levitating house suspended “in the mid air” and lowered down on the new foundation.
