About the Maps
In 1999 were added original geographical maps only as illustrative reference maps and were incorporated at the time into our Flash based website. Despite of trying to keep the information on the maps accurate, they were never meant to depict 100% precise borders, locations of cities, rivers, lakes, territorial areas, etc.
Due to changes in names of countries or cities, but also due to political changes on the ground, some maps may no longer reflect the reality or geopolitical picture especially in the aftermath of numerous wars, ethnic cleansings – therefore lose of national territories, but also due to changes caused by human development or environmental catastrophes.
Note that visual or technical changes of one type or another, to all or some of those maps, were made when some major technical updates or migrations were done throughout the years, like one in 2009 when Flash was abended on our web pages. In process errors or omissions may have been introduced. If you notice any please contact us.
In 2024 started improving general appearance and increasing the size of the illustrative geographical maps as announced here.
