Preparation
- Mix together flour, yeast and salt
- Mix in optional ingredients
- Start to add warm water (slowly) and simultaneously stir with wooden spoon. Keep adding and mixing until you get to the point where dough comes together, it’s still sticky so not too dense.
Place a bit of flour onto flat surface, countertop, and knead dough for 3 to 5 minutes, or until it’s smooth (if too sticky during the kneading dust it with a bit of flour but, once again, you do not want to make it too dense) - Place dough into a bowl, cover it and let it sit in a warm place for around 60 minutes
- Then, take the raised dough out and knead it for another 3 – 5 minutes on a flat surface
- Cut the dough in half and shape it in to two loaves
- Place two loaves on a bread baking pan or in to two separate loaf pans
- Optional – brush the tops of the loaves with olive oil or/and sprinkle with sea salt
- Cover it again and leave it in the warm place to raise another 45 minutes
- Preheat oven to 200 Celsius (395 Fahrenheit) and bake for around 40 minutes – CHECK the first time often so it does not burn
- Once done, wait a few minutes and then take the bread loaves out of the pan and let it cool for around 5 to 10 minutes before serving since it’s very hot, of course, if you can resist.
